Elm Spring Farm is more than a farm — it’s a bridge between past and future. Originally completed in 1840, this historic property now serves as both a working farm and a living classroom dedicated to regenerative agriculture and community resilience.
Husband and wife team Matt and Crystal Adler are both back in school, combining academic research with hands-on farming to build practical solutions for small producers. Matt serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at Lincoln University, conducting real-world studies on this land to help others learn sustainable methods without the trial and error we endured ourselves.
Our vision is rooted in collaboration and neighborly support — reconnecting with the tradition of helping one another while restoring the soil, the land, and the legacy of this place. The long-term goal is to preserve this historic homestead and open it as a space for education and teaching, where future generations can learn directly from the land and its history.
